There are times when I wonder why I ever signed onto the Jenova Project. I was young, naive, ambitious. And I apparently missed the clause in my contract that states that my soul belongs to that devil.

I hear what goes around headquarters. I see how you all look at me like I'm going to jump you and throw you in a tank with some mako and molest you in your sleep. Let's get one thing straight- I'm a married man. A married man whose wife hates him.

None of you have any clue what I've been through during my years as a scientist.

I want to know what you think of me.

I understand that you don't know me, sir, but since you mentioned mako...you work with SOLDIERs? I'm trying to get into SOLDIER, so I was wondering if you could give me some idea of what the mako is like.

...If this is a bad time, you can ignore me. Just curious.

I do work with SOLDIERs. While the process of showering people with mako is easy, it can be quite strenuous on the participant. Mako has no natural flavor or odor, but it is highly receptive to cellular respiration. Once it's in your body, it floods every cell, creating electrical signals and-

Well to put it simply mako downloads high volumes of memory and ancient knowledge into your system, allowing you to move and use magic with greater ease. Some people aren't mentally capable of handling this transfer, and essentially shut down. This is mako poisoning. This is also why every SOLDIER candidate must go through a psych evaluation, so that we don't end up with people being poisoned.

Does that answer your question?

I think that answers it. It sounds dangerous, though. Do a lot of people get poisoned? I mean, are my chances good? Is there any way I could know before the actual evaluation?

Some do have a negative reaction to the injections, even after the screening. It's a risk every SOLDIER candidate takes. Unfortunately, I cannot know your chances prior to the evaluation.

... To be honest, I don't quite know what to make of you. It's almost as if you're two people, from what little I've seen. I can see why people would be worried about being attacked if your response to small disagreements is to threaten someone's life... but at the same time there's.... I'm not sure what to say to you on this matter.

Is... there something that brought this on?

I see.

I recently returned from a trip to Shinra Manor in Nibelheim, where I keep all my records. I was reorganizing some of the Jenova Project files. One thing led to another and another andadkfl nlkn//akl,. m,hyuhuiui8io9ijijijijkmIOQJENJBNA;NKLAA

I'm okay. I'm perfectly fine. Now where'd I put that ice pack?
Mar. 28th, 2007 04:03 am (UTC)
.......... I left the ice pack in the exam room, I think.

((ooc: .... yeah, he has no response to that. Just a big "WTF?" XD ))

What's the Jenova Project?
Mar. 27th, 2007 10:11 pm (UTC)
Without delving into too much detail (classified information and all), it was a project to create a person with the abilities of the Cetra. Depending on who you asked, it met with varying degrees of success.

Mar. 29th, 2007 04:36 pm (UTC)
Oh. If it's classified, I won't get into it.
Sounds interesting though.
Erm, congratulations on your success, even in verying degrees.

What's the Cetra?
Mar. 28th, 2007 03:22 am (UTC)
I guess I'm indifferent either way. But you saved my life once, and I'm grateful to you for that!
Mar. 29th, 2007 03:26 am (UTC)
I remember you. SOLDIER 1st Class... had a run in with some bad mako. I wasn't sure if you were going to make it through the night, to be honest.
Mar. 29th, 2007 03:40 am (UTC)
That would be me. It seems so long ago now.....

That bad mako was the reason I joined the Academy in the first place, really.
I know you did what you could. You're very knowledgable when it comes to these things, and I know you tried your best to inusre that I stayed alive. I never properly thanked you, did I.
Mar. 29th, 2007 03:54 am (UTC)
No need to thank me, dear. It's part of my job to help injured and critically ill SOLDIERs. Frankly I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I didn't try everything in my power to save you.
Mar. 29th, 2007 04:00 am (UTC)
And that's why I thanked you. I've also heard the rumors around the building and was worried because I couldn't remember what happened. But thankfully, that came back to me, and I know the rumors weren't true anyway. That's the secretaries. You should see what they do to my things when I'm not there.
Mar. 29th, 2007 12:42 pm (UTC)
Secretaries are highly overrated.
